Jones did a great job of instilling clarity and a sense of purpose into the England squad which was rewarded with some excellent rugby and 2 seasons of fantastic results.

What Jones has been guilty of, it seems, is failing to move the team on after the initial 2 seasons. He had his chance following an exciting and innovative Argentina tour last summer but has stagnated this season.

I hope as you say that he can learn lessons but I am beginning to wonder...
TotalFlankerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01624839368553218464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7101694739527706614.post-88377463761377111512018-05-15T08:31:04.725+01:002018-05-15T08:31:04.725+01:00You have your opinion and I have mine. As I say I hope I’m wrong about Jones as does the author of the article but unfortunately in sport normally when it gets to point where the writing on the wall begins to appear..........it’s normally the beginning the of the end for that particular coach and team.....Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00984892617519507394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7101694739527706614.post-66656719809816757522018-05-14T22:46:44.370+01:002018-05-14T22:46:44.370+01:00Nonsense. We suddenly get revisionist and decide that the winning streak was a fluke, and that Jones was never as good as we thought.

Perhaps not a magician then, but a good coach guilty of trying to do too much with tired players. Have every faith that he can learn lessons, and that his competitive edge will force him to do so.

When is said and done the skill set of this English team relies on line dealing skills of the big boppers, and doubt that England can win the RWC without big Billy V and Many Tuilagi both being fit to provide that edge.

Happy he has chosen Cipriani, if as aragant has depicted in the press, I doubt that he would have humbled himself to that...Badger Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17660565050109843676noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7101694739527706614.post-6449539082010449052018-05-14T22:36:38.430+01:002018-05-14T22:36:38.430+01:00I came to these same conclusions during this years...I came to these same conclusions during this years 6 nations. And heard the same things from Aussie mates I played with in Sydney at the beginning of his tenure. I think Jones should see out things until the WC but I’m not exactly confident!! After the WC I think Deam Richards shoul come in and set things up the same way he is doing things currently at Newcastle...
